an astronomical object believed by Astronists to be approaching the Earth but still many thousands of years away, the impact event caused by which will end the human race in a mass extinction (often referred to as Starfall).

Astro-English: from Astronese, the word comet is used here as a metaphor to denote “any astronomical phenomena” that comes to impact Earth and destroy all or part of human civilisation, hence highlighting the reason why the word death is used.
